My field of research concerns the analysis of many body systems both in the “strongly interacting” and “weakly interacting” regimes. I’m particularly interested in developing and applying new methodologies which can be employed to investigate specific properties of real materials of great interest both for basic and applied research.
I use both analytical and numerical methods derived from Quantum Field Theory (QFT) and Density Functional Theory (DFT). So far I applied these methods to the understanding of itinerant electron systems, like the new Fe-based superconductors, to the study of the interplay between magnetism and superconductivity, and to the quantitative description of thermodynamic quantities in recently discovered conventional superconductors.
Currently, I’m also exploring the fascinating field of the so-called “Dirac-like materials”.
