Tiziano Squartini is a physicist, working from January 2014 as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Complex Systems (ISC-CNR), in Rome. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2011, at the University of Siena, Italy. The results of his interdisciplinary research activity, ranging from statistical mechanics of networks to economic complexity, have been published on several journals, treating both physical and economic subjects (as Sci. Rep., New J. Phys., Phys. Rev. E, J. Econ. Interact. Coord). He currently collaborates with researchers working in the fields of economics and finance (as the Supervisory Policy Division of the Dutch National Bank and the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies).
