Modern theories on quantum gravity claim that modifications of the uncertainty principle are expected at the Planck scale. These modifications cannot be studied at energies accessible in the laboratory for massive particles. However, the case of the photon is barely explored. The goal of the project is assessing the effect of a modified uncertainty principle in the photon dynamics, and addressing possible experimental tests.
