GranularChaos is a theoretical and experimental project focused on understanding the connection between microscopic and mesoscopic dynamics for granular matter. There is a strong commitment in using granular models and real granular systems as benchmarks for more general theories of non-equilibrium statistical mechanics (mainly generalized fluctuation-dissipation theory). See this page for an introduction to the topic.
